It is not a coincidence that they are named “The Skin” or “The Peel”… I remember something pinching my skin, something scratching my flesh when I only saw the photos of his work, the clothes-pin attached to the ground or the solo exhibition that peeled the walls of a gallery space. I guess this is what he means by saying he is trying to humanize some instances. Artist Mehmet Ali Uysal, who is living and working in Ankara, answered my questions about himself and his work, making it clear that he avoids every kind of definition.
